Hi, I’m Petra—a professional accountant with a research-driven mindset, a passionate recipe creator, and a dedicated wellness enthusiast. Born and raised in the Czech Republic, I moved to Vancouver in beautiful British Columbia, Canada, in 2016, where I fell in love with the mountains, rivers, and lakes.

It was during one of my first visits to Chilliwack that I felt an immediate connection to the area—the dramatic mountains, the peaceful energy, and the access to nature felt like home. From that very first visit, I dreamed of moving there, but life and commitments kept me rooted in Vancouver.

After a personally and health-wise turbulent year in 2023, that dream finally became a reality. In early 2024, I made the move to Chilliwack—and I haven’t looked back since. Whether I’m hiking in the mountains, wandering along the river, or simply sitting on my deck writing new blog posts, I find deep joy in nature and the peace it brings.

My passion for holistic living and whole-food nutrition has deepened profoundly in recent years—especially after facing personal health challenges and recognizing just how disconnected I had become from my heart, body, and soul. For much of my adult life, I lived under constant stress, thinking I was doing everything “right” by eating healthy, but not yet realizing that true wellness is so much more than what’s on your plate.

In 2023, I finally began to understand how vital it is to also nourish the emotional, mental, and spiritual aspects of ourselves. That realization became a turning point—one that transformed how I live and how I approach well-being.

Today, through Petra’s LifeFuel, I combine my love for nourishing, whole-food recipes with a soul-centered approach to wellness—blending science, tradition, and mindful living to help you cultivate a vibrant, balanced life that supports the whole you.

Cooking has always been a passion of minea love I inherited from my beloved mom, whom I love visiting each year in the Czech Republic. She’s always filled our home with the warmth of homemade meals made from wholesome ingredients and the joy of sharing food with others. Her influence continues to inspire me every day—despite the distance that now stretches between us across continents, we remain miles apart but always close at heart.

I cherish creating recipes that nourish not just the body, but also the mind and soul.

Petra’s LifeFuel was born out of my desire to share mouthwatering, nutrient-dense recipes made from unprocessed (or minimally processed) ingredients—dishes inspired by my childhood, global cuisines, and my ever-evolving journey toward holistic health and longevity.

More Than Just Food: A Holistic Approach to Wellness

Because I’ve come to believe that true wellness goes far beyond what’s on our plates, LifeFuel is about more than just food. It’s about nourishing the whole self—embracing mindfulness, emotional and spiritual well-being, and lifestyle habits that help us thrive and live with intention.

To me, wellness means fueling our bodies, minds, and souls with what we truly need to stay active, vibrant, and healthy as we age—in a way that feels sustainable, grounded, and deeply personal.

Whether your goal is to boost energy, achieve mental clarity, find balance, or lose weight in a sustainable way, my mission is to empower you with practical wellness tips, research-backed insights, and nourishing recipes to support your journey—wherever you are.

I’m still learning as I go, and my views continue to evolve as I explore new research, gain life experience, and deepen my connection with what truly nourishes the whole self. I’m not here to prescribe a one-size-fits-all solution—but to share what I discover along the way and encourage you to listen to your own body and intuition. I’ve come to deeply believe in the words of Hippocrates: “Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.”

This quote resonates with me because I’ve experienced how profoundly food can influence not just our physical health and energy, but also our emotional balance and mental clarity.

My Mission

To inspire wellness through whole foods, mindful living, and joyful nourishment.

My mission is to share my personal journey of discovering the deep connection between food, health, and happiness—by offering nourishing recipes, practical holistic guidance, and simple habits that can be woven into even the busiest lives—so we can all thrive and live vibrant, fulfilled lives.

For me, food is more than just fuel—it’s nourishment on every level. It’s about choosing whole, nutrient-dense foods that support health, vitality, and resilience. I believe that when chosen mindfully, food can activate the body’s natural ability to thrive.

At the same time, eating should feel joyful, flexible, and balanced—not rooted in rigid rules. That said, I also recognize that certain seasons of life—especially during health challenges—may call for more structured approaches. I’ve experienced this myself while following the Autoimmune Protocol (AIP) to help bring my body back into balance. In those moments, intention and care matter just as much as what’s on the plate.

True nourishment means honoring your unique needs, listening to your body, and approaching wellness with both intention and compassion.

From Restriction to Nourishment: My Journey

Like many, I haven’t always had a balanced relationship with food or well-being. For much of my life, I was caught in cycles of stress, restrictive eating, and the pursuit of an unattainable ideal when it came to diet and body image.

It wasn’t until life invited me to slow down—through personal health challenges and deeper reflection—that I began truly listening to my body. Over time, my approach to food, movement, and self-care began to shift. I’m still working on reshaping that relationship and finding balance, but I’ve come a long way. I’ve let go of perfectionism and embraced nourishment with more compassion and curiosity. Today, food feels like a source of energy, grounding, and joy—not control.

Through Petra’s LifeFuel, I share what I’ve learned along the way—not as fixed answers, but as gentle inspiration. I believe there’s no single “perfect” way to eat or live. Our needs change with time, season, and circumstance, and honoring that is part of the journey.

That’s why you’ll find a variety of recipes here—many of them plant-focused, low-carb, or inspired by diverse eating philosophies. While I personally include high-quality, responsibly sourced animal products, I deeply respect those who follow fully plant-based lifestyles. My focus is always on whole, nourishing foods that support your well-being—whatever that looks like for you.
